The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security developed SafeTN, a mobile application that is a secure, open-door communication platform where citizens can send in tips and access useful resources to help keep their schools and community safe. GCHS achieved a TVAAS growth of Level 5 again for the 2021-2022 year!! TVAAS measures academic growth for districts and schools using a range from Level 1 to Level 5. Level 5 schools are those with significant evidence that their students exceeded the state growth standard. Congrats to students, teachers, & staff on a job well done!

There will be parent meetings for all fall sports (football, volleyball, cross country, girls soccer, and cheer) on Monday, 8/1, and Thursday, 8/4, at 6 PM in the GCHS theater. Please attend ONE of the nights as we prepare for the upcoming season.
Class of 2026, if you paid but didn't get a laptop at Freshmen Orientation, you can pick up your laptop on Tuesday, 8/2, in the library. Don't forget to bring your completed contract back. Wait for the announcement to dismiss to the library. - If you weren't able to be at orientation, you can pick up your contract on Monday. You can bring your money and signed contract back on Tuesday to get your laptop as well. Thanks for your patience & flexibility!
All student logins (for laptops, PowerSchool, Classlink, etc.) have been updated. Students will get their new password in 1st block on Monday, 8/1. Paper copies of student schedules will be available for 10th-12th graders Monday morning in the gym. Course request change forms will be available in cohort meetings on Monday and are due Wed., 8/3, at 3 PM. We look forward to seeing our students back, and we look forward to a great year!

The meal application for the 2022-23 SY is now open! A new meal application must be filled out every school year to be considered for free or reduced meal costs. (The free and reduced meal application can be filled out any time throughout the school year. )

Class of 2026 Parents & Parents of New Students, Laptop Pick Up will be held on Thurs., 7/28, 5:00-5:45 PM in the theater lobby before orientation. In order to pick up a laptop, registration must be complete, a parent/guardian and the student must be present 7/28 to sign a contract, and a $25 fee must be paid. (Checks and cards are accepted.) Orientation will start at 6 PM in the theater. We look forward to seeing you soon!
